• Ensure POs are acknowledged and confirmed by subcon
• Monitor outstanding deliveries and follow up daily
• Escalate overdue items according to urgency and business impact
• Liaise with subcontractors on ETA, delays, and recovery plans
• Coordinate with internal production/planning team on delivery priorities
• Maintain and update outstanding delivery lists
• File and record POs, delivery orders, and correspondence
• Prepare weekly outstanding reports for management review
• Flag critical delays and supply risks
• Maintain professional and constructive relationships with subcontractors
• Escalate to subcon management if issues are unresolved

About the role
U-Metal Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Subcon Purchasing Coordinator to join our team in Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing subcontractor procurement activities and ensuring efficient supply chain operations. As a Subcon Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the purchasing process for subcontracted services and materials, supporting the company's operational objectives and maintaining strong relationships with our subcontractors. This role is essential to ensuring timely delivery of components and services whilst maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards across our manufacturing and logistics operations.

Order & PO Management

Issue and track purchase orders to subcontractors

Ensure POs are acknowledged and confirmed by subcon

Follow-Up & Chasing

Monitor outstanding deliveries and follow up daily

Escalate overdue items according to urgency and business impact

Communication

Liaise with subcontractors on ETA, delays, and recovery plans

Coordinate with internal production/planning team on delivery priorities

Documentation

Maintain and update outstanding delivery lists

File and record POs, delivery orders, and correspondence

Reporting

Prepare weekly outstanding reports for management review

Flag critical delays and supply risks

Maintain professional and constructive relationships with subcontractors

Escalate to subcon management if issues are unresolved
