Job summary

Vishay Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Subcon Lead Buyer, Section Manager to be based at Krubong, Melaka. You will manage subcontractors, analyze prices, and lead cost-saving initiatives within the OPTO portfolio.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in semiconductor subcontracting, strong sourcing and negotiation skills, and fluency in English and Mandarin. SAP experience is preferred for supplier management and contracting tasks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Business required.
• Fluent English and Mandarin for client communication.
• 5+ years in semiconductor subcontracting or OSS/OSAT markets.
• Good sourcing, negotiation and market analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractors commercially (RFQs, prices, consignments).
• Assess performance of subcontractors and driving cost savings.
• Source subcontractors for OPTO portfolio alignment.
• Ensure competitive subcontractor pricing in the market.
• Conduct market research and cost analyses; coordinate with Legal for agreements.

Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is currently seeking applicants for a Subcon Lead Buyer, Section Manager.

This position will be located at Krubong, Melaka in a vibrant industrial area. You will experience different exciting local cultures in this historical state.

What you will be doing:

• Manage subcontractors commercially (RFQs, prices, consignment, etc.).
• Contribute on the assessment of performance of subcontractors.
• Source applicable subcontractors which will fit in OPTO portfolio.
• Ensuring subcontractor prices are competitive in the market.
• Market research / analysis
• Cost analysis
• Collaborating with subcontractors on cost savings initiatives.
• Establish, maintain, and update contractual agreements (NDA, MPA, CSR, BCP). (Coordination with Legal)

What you will bring along:

• Degree on Engineering or Business course.
• Good communication skills in English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients, both oral and written.
• Good in sourcing and negotiations.
• Knowledgeable in semiconduction materials and semiconductor sub contractor market (OSAT), preferably with at least 5 years of experience in semiconductor industry.
• Knowledgeable in SAP.
