Scope of Position
Responsible for the structural design and analysis of fundamental building elements across assigned projects. This role offers progressive exposure to increasingly complex design work, supporting the development of technical competence and experience required for professional licensure.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in structural design projects for a diverse range of buildings and structures, from early design development through to construction documentation and site support.
- Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving structural analysis and design, ensuring that work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues, coordinate design interfaces, and support successful project delivery.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, design practices, and applicable building codes to support high-quality and compliant engineering solutions.
- Liaise with relevant vendors, contractors, and sales/technical representatives to obtain technical information, review proposed solutions, and support project coordination.
- Manage relevant authority submissions for related projects, including the preparation of required supporting documents and timely follow-up with relevant authorities.
- Provide engineering design calculations and drawings, ensuring they are clear, coordinated, technically sound, and aligned with applicable codes and standards.
- Attend design, client, coordination, and site meetings to provide technical input, address design matters, and support ongoing project requirements.
Education/Experience
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering recognised by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in structural engineering, preferably within building or industrial project environments.
- Good competence in structural steelwork and reinforced concrete analysis and design, with the ability to apply sound engineering principles to practical project requirements.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, STAAD.Pro, and Revit for 3D structural modelling and coordination.
- Familiarity with steelwork and reinforced concrete design codes, including Eurocodes/BS Standards and/or American Standards such as ACI and ANSI/AISC.
- Experience supporting overseas projects or collaborating with international firms will be an added advantage, particularly in coordinating across different project teams and standards.
- Able to coordinate effectively with different disciplines throughout a project, including architectural, MEP, and construction teams.
- Independent and organised, with a positive work attitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage assigned tasks responsibly.
- Good proficiency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly in technical discussions, meetings, and project documentation
How you will succeed in this role
- Communicate clearly and openly — share ideas, progress, and concerns in a timely manner; listen actively and ask thoughtful questions.
- Stay curious and take initiative — seek to understand how systems work, explore the details behind a problem, and look for ways to improve outcomes.
- Take ownership — deliver accurate and well-organised work, manage commitments responsibly, and raise risks early when clarification or support is needed.
- Solve problems thoughtfully — analyse issues systematically, consider practical alternatives, and work with others to reach sound solutions.
- Collaborate effectively — work respectfully with colleagues, clients, vendors, and site teams across different disciplines.
- Commit to quality and safety — take pride in reliable, buildable designs and uphold high standards of safety and professionalism.
You will work in a supportive engineering environment where you can learn from experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful industrial projects, and develop both your technical and professional capabilities.
We believe strong engineers combine technical rigour with curiosity, communication, teamwork, and personal ownership. If you are ready to build a career in industrial process design and make a tangible contribution from day one, we would like to hear from you.
