Job summary

Smiths Detection, a global leader in security solutions, seeks a Supply Chain Planner to secure materials for production, working with Procurement, Production and Logistics to maintain flow and continuity.

The role requires SAP ERP/MRP experience, advanced Excel, and strong analytical and collaborative skills to optimize inventories and ensure on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field, or diploma with strong planning experience.
• 2+ years in supply chain planning, material or production planning in manufacturing.
• Hands-on use of SAP ERP or similar ERP for PR/PO/MRP and inventory control.
• Strong knowledge of MRP, MPS, demand planning and supplier follow-up.
• Advanced Excel skills with data analysis and planning reports.

Responsibilities

• Execute MRP planning activities within SAP/ERP and adjust reschedule actions.
• Monitor material availability, stock levels and supply commitments for production.
• Manage PRs and POs to ensure timely delivery.
• Conduct demand vs. supply analysis and mitigate shortages.
• Develop production schedules considering material readiness and capacity.
• Drive material recovery plans and expedite critical deliveries.
• Monitor inventory health including safety stock, MOQ and obsolescence.
• Analyze supplier performance and drive delivery improvements.
• Generate planning reports using Excel and other tools.
• Collaborate across functions to improve planning accuracy and on-time delivery.
