Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Ipoh, Malaysia seeks a Procurement Manager to lead the local procurement team, align sourcing with business needs, and drive supplier performance and cost optimization.

You will collaborate with planning, engineering, quality, and finance to ensure continuity of supply and compliance with global and site strategies. The role requires 6–8 years in procurement within manufacturing or semiconductor environments, with strong negotiation, analytics and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• The candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration or Supply Chain Management.
• 6 to 8 years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing or supply chain experience in manufacturing or semiconductor environments, with leadership in a medium-size team.
• Proficiency in English; Mandarin is advantageous for some supplier engagement.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, reporting, stakeholder-management and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management: identify suppliers, develop sourcing strategies, and lead supplier reviews.
• Cost Control & Value Optimization: pursue cost savings and total cost of ownership improvements with cross-functional teams.
• Purchasing Operations and Team Leadership: lead the Ipoh team and allocate workload to meet production needs.
• Supplier Performance and Supply-Risk Management: monitor performance and mitigate risks across suppliers.
• Process Improvement, Systems, and Compliance: enhance procurement workflows and ensure policy and ISO compliance.
• Training and Team Development: coach buyers and maintain up-to-date work instructions.
• Reporting & KPI Monitoring: provide timely procurement reporting and analytics.
• Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Coordination: align with planning, engineering, quality, finance and other teams.
