Job summary

PT RESOURCES HOLDINGS BERHAD in Kuala Lumpur invites a senior professional to lead purchasing and merchandising strategies. You will oversee supplier negotiations, product assortment, and inventory planning to maximise profitability while managing a mid-to-senior team.

The role requires a strong track record in procurement, pricing strategy and working capital optimisation, with effective cross-functional collaboration across Retail, Sales, Warehouse, Finance and Marketing.

Qualifications

• Formal education in purchasing, procurement, or logistics.
• At least 7 years of practical experience in purchasing and merchandising.
• Experience with house brands/private label is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Excel and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing and merchandising strategies aligned with sales and inventory goals.
• Lead, coach and strengthen the Purchasing & Merchandising team with KPIs and performance reviews.
• Manage supplier sourcing, evaluation, selection, relationships and negotiations.
• Monitor costs, market prices and supplier competitiveness for savings.
• Develop assortment strategies based on demand and profitability.
• Oversee inventory planning to maintain availability and minimise overstock.
• Optimise quantities, terms and levels to improve working capital.
• Lead house brand private label sourcing and product development.
• Coordinate with Retail, Sales, Finance, and Marketing on pricing and inventory.
• Prepare regular purchasing and inventory reports for Management.
