Job summary

Avnet in Malaysia is seeking a procurement professional to manage purchasing, order fulfillment, and logistics to support business demand and profitability. You will align purchases with strategic goals and handle supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery.

You will also negotiate pricing with suppliers, coordinate with warehouse teams, and manage inventory aging and non-conforming stock while communicating status to planners and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in purchasing and logistics
• Knowledge of PO systems and supplier management

Responsibilities

• Purchases and provides order fulfillment to support demand and improve inventory turns.
• Manages order status: tracking, reporting, and supplier delivery coordination.
• Develops and maintains supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery and cost competitiveness.
• Negotiates pricing with suppliers and provides quotes to sales teams.
• Coordinates with warehouse/logistics teams to ensure timely product receipt and delivery.
• Manages non-conforming inventory, including dispositions and in-process issues.
• Communicates order status and problem resolutions to planners, sales, and customer ops.
• Supports inventory aging, fill-rate improvements, and stock rotation/liquidations.
• Contributes to supplier management projects and other duties as assigned.
