Job summary

Exyte in Malaysia (Selangor) is seeking a Cost Controller to support the Project Cost Controls System and Management Reporting. You will manage project setup, cost reporting, forecasts and budget control across assigned projects.

You will compile historical cost data, monitor variances, and prepare monthly cost reports and cash flow, collaborating with finance and project teams to ensure accurate cost information for decision making.

Qualifications

• Degree in quantity surveying, business administration, engineering, construction management, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial project management or cost control.
• Experience with cost forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting.

Responsibilities

• Project Setup: review WBS and budgets with Procurement & Subcontracts Leads, Commercial Leads and Project Managers.
• Cost Reporting & Controls: prepare revenues/budgets/commitments/forecasts and cash flows as per reporting requirements; monitor costs and verify allocations.
• Monitor actual and committed costs; analyze trends and update forecasts; verify cost allocations by Work Package.
• Prepare monthly Cost Reports (Ms Excel) and Client reports as required.
• For high value projects, support Senior Cost Controller in Cost Reports and GPR.
• Prepare monthly Cash Flow and weekly Cash Flow statements.
• Maintain Change Orders, Budget Transfers, Trends Register; prepare supporting documents.
• Assist PMs with estimates and supporting documentation for CO submission to Clients.
• Prepare billing memos with supporting documents for Finance to process invoices in SAP.
• Internal liaison with Finance/Procurement/Operations to ensure accurate cost recording and resolve discrepancies; troubleshoot reporting data.
• Support Project Manager in risk review process and maintain an updated risk register.
