Job summary

Hume Cement Sdn Bhd in Gopeng, Perak seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Planner) to plan and coordinate maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems. This full-time role within the Engineering department focuses on preventive maintenance, budgeting, and contractor coordination to ensure safe, on-time project execution.

The candidate will read drawings, manage BOMs, analyze data, and support safety/compliance in a dynamic cement plant environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years in mechanical planning/maintenance in manufacturing.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with maintenance management software and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of safety regulations in cement industry.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure safety, on time and within budget.
• Prepare and manage annual maintenance budget and monitor costs.
• Plan major maintenance work and monitor progress to meet timelines and budgets.
• Manage spare parts planning, specifications, and procurement.
• Prepare tender documents and evaluate contractor proposals.
• Develop and maintain maintenance plans and technical documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to source contractors and services.
• Monitor spare parts inventory to minimize excess stock.
• Prepare JSRA and ensure compliance with safety standards.
