Job summary

Hume Cement Sdn Bhd in Gopeng, Perak seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Planner) to organize maintenance and coordinate activities for mechanical equipment. You will work within the Engineering department to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective operations.

The role requires 2-5 years in a similar planning or maintenance position in manufacturing, strong reading of drawings, and familiarity with CMMS (EPICOR).

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical planning or maintenance in manufacturing.
• Able to read drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with maintenance management software and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of safety regulations in the cement industry.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure safety, timeliness, and budget adherence.
• Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget and monitor costs.
• Plan and schedule major maintenance work, tracking progress to deadlines.
• Manage spare parts planning, specifications, and procurement support.
• Prepare tender documents, evaluate contractor proposals, and monitor performance.
• Develop and maintain maintenance plans, procedures, and technical docs.
• Support RCA for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to source contractors and suppliers.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and CMMS records.
