Job summary

Hume Cement Sdn Bhd seeks a seasoned Project Manager to lead plant improvements and CAPEX projects from planning to handover. You will coordinate with management, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure smooth execution and clear communication.

The role requires strong project management skills with expertise in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management, plus familiarity with cement plant construction processes and production tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering) or a related field.
• A Master's degree in project management or construction management is an added advantage for more significant projects.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects, preferably within the cement industry or similar heavy industrial sectors.
• Previous experience in project management or project leadership roles is often required.
• Strong project management skills, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Ability to create comprehensive project plans, set achievable milestones, and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
• Familiarity with cement plant construction processes and equipment installation.
• Understanding of cement production technologies and engineering principles related to cement manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage plant improvement and CAPEX projects from planning through completion and handover.
• Coordinate with management, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams for smooth execution and communication.
• Prepare project proposals, budgets, cost estimates, and CAPEX documentation for approval.
• Ensure all projects comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives including productivity, reliability, and operational excellence programs.
• Monitor plant and equipment performance, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions.
• Track project progress, costs, timelines, and resources to ensure delivery on schedule and within budget.
• Lead, coach, and develop project team members in a high-performance environment.
• Participate in daily operational meetings and provide regular project updates to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Maintenance.
