Job summary

Private Advertiser seeks an experienced planning leader to drive strategic material management aligned with manufacturing and financial objectives in Malaysia.

The role covers strategic planning, MRP-driven procurement, inventory optimization, vendor management, customs liaison, manpower planning, capacity optimization, cost control, ERP alignment, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration to meet production targets and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for material management in line with the company's manufacturing and financial objectives.
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control practices to ensure optimal stock levels, reduce excess inventory and minimize stock shortages.
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Utilize MRP systems to plan and schedule the procurement and delivery of materials needed to meet production schedules.
• Vendor Management: Manage the performance of suppliers to ensure the best combination of quality, cost and delivery terms.
• Customs Liaison: Liaise with Malaysian Customs Department on Import Duty drawback and SST.
• Manpower Planning: Review manpower planning in order to achieve the production target for the Company.
• Production Capacity: Coordinate, review, manage and coordinate planning to optimize manufacturing capacity and meet customer delivery requirements.
• Cost Control: Identify and implement cost-saving measures related to materials procurement, inventory holding and waste reduction.
• ERP: Mapping out processes for Planning, Warehouse and Purchasing activities to align with the capabilities and best practices supported by the ERP system.
• Quality Assurance: Work with quality assurance teams to ensure that materials meet required standards and support continuous quality improvement.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop the planning and materials team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with production, finance and business development departments to align material planning with broader business objectives.
