Job summary

JDA WMS, Johor, Malaysia, seeks a Procurement Manager to lead the Purchasing Department in securing direct and indirect materials for manufacturing. You will optimize costs, manage vendors, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

You will mentor the procurement team, align with Quality, Production, Warehouse, and Finance, and maintain audit-ready supplier records. This role requires strong negotiation and leadership skills in a food-industry setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in SCM, Business Administration, Food Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience in the food industry.
• Proven experience mentoring a purchasing team.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of direct and indirect materials for manufacturing, ensuring supply continuity and cost efficiency.
• Oversee supplier identification, selection, development, contracts, and performance management.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team, build capability, ensure quality and competitive costs.
• Drive process improvements to boost efficiency, savings, and supplier reliability.
• Support implementation of Food Safety Management Systems (HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000, BRC, IFS, HALAL).
• Develop purchasing team members through performance guidance and training.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply risks to shape procurement strategy.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, Warehouse, and Finance to align procurement with operations.
• Maintain audit-ready procurement documentation and supplier records.
