Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a highly capable Financial Controller to join and lead the Group Finance function, reporting to the CFO and aligning with the senior leadership team.

The role is designed with a long-term career trajectory, including a clear succession path to the Group CFO role, and requires strong corporate governance, external audit experience, and a proven ability to drive financial strategy across a PLC-like organization.

Qualifications

• Relevant accounting/finance degree with professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA, MIA).
• Audit experience in external audit is required.
• Experience in large corporate/ PLC environment with complex reporting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Partner closely with and support the Group CFO in leading the overall Group Finance function, driving both operational and strategic financial initiatives.
• Operational Management: Serve as the crucial bridge between executive leadership and day-to-day finance operations, providing effective, hands-on leadership to the Finance Department.
• Delivery & Excellence: Oversee the end-to-end finance function to ensure the timely, accurate, and consistent delivery of all financial reporting and operational work.
• Process & Controls: Proactively identify areas for optimization, driving continuous process improvements and aggressively strengthening internal financial controls and corporate governance.
• Talent Development: Mentor, coach, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the team is equipped to support the firm’s growth.
• Succession Readiness: Progressively absorb broader executive responsibilities, gaining the necessary exposure and strategic insight to prepare for the Group CFO role in the future.
