Opportunity
Across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Indonesia, multinational businesses are navigating an increasingly complex and fast‑moving compliance environment. Singapore’s Peppol network is live. Australia and New Zealand are expanding digital reporting requirements. Indonesia’s e‑invoicing infrastructure is maturing. For multinationals operating across these markets — whether headquartered in the region or running APAC operations from a regional hub — staying compliant across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously is a growing, unavoidable challenge.
Sovos already has a significant and growing install base across this territory. This role is responsible for protecting and expanding those relationships while selectively acquiring new logos where compliance mandates are creating clear, immediate buying urgency.
This is a senior, consultative role. You will engage CFOs, Heads of Tax, and senior finance leaders as a trusted compliance advisor — not a software vendor — helping them build a multi‑jurisdiction strategy on a single global platform. You will also work with alliance partners, including Big4 firms and regional SIs, to co‑sell into net‑new accounts and extend Sovos’s reach across the territory.
What You Will Do
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing Sovos clients across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Indonesia — identifying expansion and upsell opportunities, protecting renewals, and building multi‑threaded executive relationships within each account.
- Develop and execute account‑based commercial strategies across your territory, balancing install‑base expansion with targeted new‑logo acquisition.
- Engage senior finance, tax, and IT leadership as a consultative advisor on multi‑jurisdiction compliance strategy — e‑invoicing, VAT/GST, indirect tax reporting — across a territory that spans four distinct regulatory environments.
- Work with alliance partners (Big4, regional SIs, Peppol‑accredited providers) to co‑sell into net‑new accounts and accelerate deal cycles.
- Identify accounts where new compliance mandates, ERP migrations, or international expansion are creating buying urgency and convert them to new‑logo wins.
- Build and maintain a balanced pipeline across expansion, upsell, and new‑logo motions; deliver accurate and timely quarterly forecasts.
- Partner closely with implementation and customer success teams to ensure clients are realizing value and positioned for growth.
- Leverage AI‑powered tools for account intelligence, engagement scoring, and pipeline management.
What We Need From You
Location: Kuala Lumpur-based; willingness to travel across ANZ, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Experience: 8+ years of enterprise SaaS or technology sales, with significant account management and expansion experience.
- Demonstrated track record of growing revenue within large, complex enterprise accounts — you know how to expand a relationship and a commercial footprint well beyond the initial sale.
- Experience engaging and building trust with CFO, Head of Tax, VP Finance, and CIO‑level stakeholders across diverse APAC markets; you are as comfortable in Sydney as you are in Singapore or Jakarta.
- Familiarity with indirect tax, VAT/GST, e‑invoicing, or regulatory compliance as a category — sufficient to hold a credible advisory conversation with a senior tax or finance leader.
- Experience working with or alongside alliance partners (Big4, regional SIs, consulting firms) to source and close deals; you understand how to co‑sell without losing control of the commercial process.
- Understanding of ERP‑integrated selling (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent); able to navigate deals where IT, Finance, and Tax are all stakeholders in the buying decision.
- Able to manage a complex, multi‑motion territory — balancing short‑cycle expansion deals inside the install base with longer new‑logo cycles, without letting either slip.
- English fluency required; Bahasa Indonesia or Mandarin is a strong advantage for this territory.
Why This Role
- The install base you inherit is generating strong expansion win rates — this is not a build‑from‑zero situation; you are scaling and deepening a territory with proven revenue momentum.
- Singapore’s Peppol network, Indonesia’s maturing e‑invoicing infrastructure, and evolving ANZ digital reporting requirements are all creating net‑new urgency without requiring you to manufacture it.
- Alliance investment is growing: Sovos’s partner programme in APAC is being built around this territory, giving you co‑sell leverage that your competitors are already using against you.
- Australia (517 accounts) and Singapore (366 accounts) are the two largest account pools in the territory — the density is there to build a high‑velocity expansion motion alongside selective new‑logo acquisition.
- You will be operating across one of the fastest‑growing compliance markets in the world, backed by a platform trusted by more than 100,000 businesses in 100 countries.
