Mothercare is seeking a Store Manager in Klang Valley to oversee daily store operations, drive sales and lead a high-performing team. You will implement SOPs, monitor performance, and ensure outstanding customer service while managing inventory, merchandising and compliance with company policies.

The role requires 3–5 years in retail management, strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to meet sales targets and budgets.

Job description

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of the store. This role supports Area Manager/Retail Manager by ensuring that the store meets its sales targets, operates efficiently, and maintains high customer service standards. The Store Manager also plays a key role in implementing company initiatives and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities1. Operational Management

Oversee the store's operations, running efficiently and according to company standards.

Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency.

Address operational challenges and improve store performance.

Achieve sales targets and revenue goals.

Analyse sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth within the store.

Work closely with the team to implement sales strategies and promotional activities.

Provide guidance and support to the team.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to the team.

Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to develop the team.

4. Direct Report Compliance & Growth

Ensure that all staff are complying with their job descriptions and fulfilling their roles effectively.

Provide ongoing support, mentorship, and resources to help direct reports grow and develop in their roles.

Regularly review and adjust development plans for direct reports to align with their career goals and the company’s objectives.

5. Customer Experience

Ensure the store maintains a high level of customer service.

Address store customer complaints and ensure timely resolution.

Monitor customer feedback and work with the team to implement improvements.

6. Inventory & Merchandising

Oversee inventory management to ensure the store maintains optimal stock levels.

Implement merchandising strategies that enhance store presentation and drive sales.

Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.

7. Compliance & Reporting

Ensure the store complies with company policies, health and safety regulations, and local laws.

Assist in the implementation of company initiatives and ensure alignment with overall business goals.

8. Housekeeping & Store Presentation

Adhere to high housekeeping standards, including cleanliness, organisation, and overall store presentation.

Consistently maintain housekeeping standards.

Improve and maintain the cleanliness and visual appeal of the store.

9. Staff Grooming

Ensure that store staff adhere to company grooming standards and present a professional presence at all times.

Conduct regular checks to ensure grooming standards are maintained, including uniform compliance and personal hygiene.

Enforce and maintain grooming standards within the team.

10. Stock Loss & Shrinkage Control

Implement measures to minimise stock loss and ensure it remains within acceptable limits.

Review stock loss data to address any issues.

Qualifications & Requirements
