Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is seeking an experienced registered nurse specialized in obstetrics to provide comprehensive care for mothers and newborns through labor, delivery and postpartum phases. You will monitor vitals, support clinical procedures, administer medications, educate new mothers, and maintain precise medical records within a high-paced team setting.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Nursing, valid APC with the Malaysian Nursing Board, and 2–3 years of maternity

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board (Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia) with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
• Post-Basic Certificate in Midwifery or Obstetrics Nursing is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience working in a Maternity Ward, Labour Room, or NICU.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle emergency situations calmly.
• Willingness to work on a shift-rotation basis, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns through the labor, delivery, and postpartum phases.
• Monitor, record, and report vital signs and health statuses of patients, identifying and responding to any complications or emergencies promptly.
• Assist obstetricians and pediatricians during deliveries, medical examinations, and clinical procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications, intravenous infusions, and other treatments accurately.
• Educate and support new mothers on newborn care, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and self-care practices.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient medical records in compliance with clinical and legal standards.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
