Job summary

KPJ Batu Pahat Specialist Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care for mothers and newborns across labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. You will monitor vital signs, support physicians, and ensure patient safety in a fast-paced maternity unit.

Educating new mothers on newborn care and breastfeeding, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board (Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia) with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
• A Post-Basic Certificate in Midwifery or Obstetrics Nursing is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience working in a Maternity Ward, Labour Room, or NICU.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum phases.
• Monitor, record, and report vital signs and health statuses of patients, identifying and responding to any complications or emergencies promptly.
• Assist obstetricians and pediatricians during deliveries, medical examinations, and clinical procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications, intravenous infusions, and other treatments accurately.
• Educate and support new mothers on newborn care, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and self-care practices.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient medical records in compliance with clinical and legal standards.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle emergency situations calmly.
• Willingness to work on a shift-rotation basis, including weekends and public holidays.
