Job summary

Renesas Electronics is seeking a Staff Process Test Engineer to lead the readiness of automotive semiconductor test operations and drive improvements for high-volume manufacturing.

You will own final test processes, analyze yield data, and coordinate with Global teams to ensure reliable production and delivery.

The role requires advanced technical skills and a collaborative mindset to optimize performance while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with focus on electrical/electronics, mechatronics or related field.
• Minimum 6 years in semiconductor test manufacturing, product or test engineering in high-volume fabs.
• Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and relevant test systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead introduction and qualification of new automotive semiconductor products to ramp into high-volume manufacturing.
• Provide technical ownership for final test operations, including yield monitoring, failure analysis, and disposition.
• Drive profitability and efficiency via yield improvement, OEE optimization, retest reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain, and global engineering teams.
• Analyze production/test data and drive corrective/preventive actions using statistical methods.

Job description

The Staff Process Test Engineer provides technical leadership for the new product introduction, transfer, and high-volume manufacturing of automotive semiconductor products. This role leads cross-functional efforts to establish production readiness of final test operations, resolve complex yield and quality issues, and optimize product and test performance. The engineer is expected to drive data-based improvements in yield, OEE, retest, cycle time, equipment utilization, and manufacturing cost, while ensuring test program robustness, product compliance, and reliable customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction and qualification of new automotive semiconductor products from Product Group development through successful ramp-up into high-volume manufacturing.
• Provide technical ownership and engineering support for final test operations, including yield monitoring, failure analysis, root cause investigation, and product disposition to ensure stable production performance
• Drive manufacturing profitability and operational excellence through yield improvement, OEE optimization, retest reduction, cost-saving initiatives, and automation projects that enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain, and global engineering organizations to resolve technical issues, support customer requirements, and achieve business objectives.
• Analyze production and test data using statistical and problem-solving methodologies to identify improvement opportunities and drive corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/ Electronics, Mechatronics or related fields).
• Minimum 6 years of experience in semiconductor test manufacturing, product engineering, or test engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Candidates with relevant engineering experience working with Automated Test Systems (ATE); ETS364, 93K SPEA, Diamondx, ETS800 and Flex module tester
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and global teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with failure analysis, reliability testing, problem-solving methodologies, and root cause investigation techniques
• Willingness to support on-call duties if required.
