Job summary

Bosch Cross-Domain Computing Solutions (XC) in Penang (Bayan Lepas) is seeking an embedded software engineer. You will collaborate on software design, capture customer requirements, and ensure alignment with the SW release process in a team environment.

The role involves hands-on development for embedded targets, C/C++ programming, and experience with Linux, Yocto, and kernel tooling. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and you will work in Bayan Lepas Phase with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering/Science.
• Proven working experience in embedded software engineering.
• Hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
• Solid programming experience in C, C++ or object oriented programming.
• Experience in Linux embedded development with cross-compiling, OS toolchain, Yocto/Debian build system, Linux file system, GDB, Linux bash scripts.
• Knowledge of Linux driver porting and Kernel device tree.
• Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to integrate and to work in a team.
• Willing to work in Bayan Lepas Phase.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate as project team member on software design matters.
• Capture and evaluate customer and vehicle interface requirements and identify suitable concepts.
• Adhere to Bosch Software Engineering processes including requirement/design/code reviews and testing.
• Develop software design considering dependencies and system integration.
• Program SW using standard and proprietary tools and libraries.
• Create SW test specifications and, if needed, develop test software and execute test plans.
• Analyze failure logs, clarify system problems and resolve design issues.
• Develop and produce technical reports and design analyses.
• Assist Manufacturing in troubleshooting and provide post-production support.

Job Description

• Collaborate as project team member on Software design matters.
• Capture and evaluate customer, internal requirements and vehicle specific interface requirements. Identify suitable concept in terms of functional, technological and effort.
• Adhere to Bosch Software Engineering Process as e.g.:-
  • Perform requirement reviews, design reviews and code reviews.
  • Perform unit testing and release of the software according to SW release process.
• Develop the SW design taking into consideration the dependencies to other module and integration into the overall system.
• SW programming using both standard and proprietary software tools and libraries.
• Create SW test specifications and protocols, if necessary develop test SW. Executes test plans to ensure new software meets specifications, functionalities and performance requirements.
• Analyze failure log, clarify system problems and resolve design issues.
• Develop and produce technical reports, design analysis and documentation in support of designs.
• Assist Manufacturing in troubleshooting manufacturing related problems.
• Provide post-production support.
