Job summary

Bosch Cross-Domain Computing Solutions (XC) in Penang, Bayan Lepas, is seeking an embedded software engineer to collaborate on software design, capture customer and vehicle interface requirements, and ensure software quality through reviews and testing.

The role focuses on C/C++ programming for embedded targets, Linux development, Yocto build systems, and integration with vehicle systems. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, with opportunities to grow in a global automotive R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering/Science.
• Proven working experience in embedded software engineering.
• Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
• Solid programming experience in C, C++ or object oriented programming.
• Experience in Linux embedded development with cross-compiling, OS toolchain, Yocto/Debian build system.
• Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate as project team member on Software design matters.
• Capture and evaluate customer, internal requirements and vehicle specific interface requirements, identifying suitable concepts.
• Adhere to Bosch Software Engineering Process with requirement, design, and code reviews; perform unit testing and release of software.
• Develop software design considering dependencies and integration into the overall system.
• SW programming using standard and proprietary tools and libraries.
• Create SW test specifications and protocols; develop test software if necessary; execute test plans.
• Analyze failure logs, clarify system problems and resolve design issues.
• Develop and produce technical reports, design analyses and documentation.
• Assist Manufacturing in troubleshooting manufacturing related problems.
• Provide post-production support.

Job Description

• Collaborate as project team member on Software design matters.

• SW programming using both standard and proprietary software tools and libraries.
• Create SW test specifications and protocols, if necessary develop test SW. Executes test plans to ensure new software meets specifications, functionalities and performance requirements.
• Analyze failure log, clarify system problems and resolve design issues.
• Develop and produce technical reports, design analysis and documentation in support of designs.
• Assist Manufacturing in troubleshooting manufacturing related problems.
• Provide post-production support.

• Proven working experience in embedded software engineering

• Experience in Linux embedded development in cross-compiling, OS toolchain, Yocto/Debian build system, Linux file system, GDB, Linux bash scripts
• Adequate knowledge in Linux driver porting and Kernel device tree
• Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
• Good oral / written communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to integrate and to work in a team
• Willing to work in Bayan Lepas Phase
