Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Malaysia seeks an experienced Test/Product Engineer to drive yield enhancement and reduce test costs while ensuring device quality and manufacturability. This role interfaces with cross-functional teams across the product life cycle to optimize performance and reliability.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in semiconductor test engineering, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, with expertise in tester platforms and process validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 7 years of experience in high volume semiconductor manufacturing, especially test/product engineering.
• Strong understanding of test methodology and reliability testing.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as JMP or Spotfire.

Responsibilities

• Review and disposition low-yield lots; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with test engineering, assembly, quality, and OSAT to ensure smooth production.
• Perform day-to-day sustaining activities to improve delivery fulfillment.
• Qualification and validation of new products and tester platform migration.
• Contribute to gross margin improvement through yield initiatives.
• System integration across manufacturing stages.

Job Summary

This role interfaces with cross functional teams on all phases of product life cycle. This role is responsible for driving yield enhancement, reducing test costs and ensuring the overall quality and manufacturability of the devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and provide disposition on low-yield production lots, and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Work closely with test engineering, assembly, quality, internal factory and OSAT to resolve issues efficiently and ensure smooth production flow.
• Execute day to day sustaining activities (EQA hold rate reduction, SYL/ SBL sustaining, etc.) to ensure delivery fulfillment.
• Qualification and validation of new products, tester platform migration and various engineering activities.
• Gross Margin Improvement Initiatives (Yield improvement, etc.).
• System integration.

Qualifications

Must Have Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• 7 years of experience in High Volume Semiconductor Manufacturing environment preferably in Test Product Engineering, Test Engineering or Product Engineering
• Strong understanding of product knowledge & test methodology of analog/digital/power product, failure analysis, reliability test, RCA.
• Proficiency in statistical data analysis tools (JMP, Spotfire, etc.).
• Strong communication skills to interact with people at all levels
• Strong project management skills.

Good to Have Qualifications:

• Experience with module devices
• Experience with Visual Basic/C++ programming
• Experience with ATE tester platforms (Teradyne ETS364/Flex, Advantest).
