Who We Are?
Klinik Dr. Noor is a healthcare provider based in Kepong, Selangor, dedicated to providing professional medical care with a strong focus on diabetic wound care, chronic wound management, and wound recovery. We are currently seeking a Staff Nurse / Wound Dresser to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and effective nursing care to patients according to their medical needs, doctor’s instructions, and clinic SOPs.
- Conduct wound assessments according to the doctor’s clinical instructions or treatment plan, and monitor wound healing progress.
- Take and document wound according to clinic protocols and with appropriate patient consent.
- Perform wound dressing using proper aseptic techniques and prescribed wound care procedures.
- Assist with or perform debridement according to the nurse’s competency, training, scope of practice, and doctor’s instructions.
- Identify and promptly report signs of infection, ischaemia, gangrene, worsening wound condition, or other clinical deterioration.
- Assist with wound C&S (Culture & Sensitivity) collection and other relevant specimen collection as instructed.
- Administer medications, injections, IV antibiotics, drips, and other prescribed treatments within the appropriate scope of nursing practice.
- Monitor patients’ responses to IV antibiotics, drips, medications, and other treatments, and report any adverse reactions or concerns to the doctor.
- Provide patient education on diabetic foot care, offloading, nutrition, medication compliance, and proper wound care at home.
- Support doctors during consultations, examinations, minor procedures, wound care, and other clinical interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of wound assessments, treatments, medications, wound, vital signs, and nursing notes.
- Ensure dressing trolleys, emergency equipment, wound care supplies, and daily treatment requirements are complete, clean, and ready for use.
- Coordinate continuity of wound care and follow-up appointments to ensure patients receive appropriate ongoing treatment.
- Guide Clinical Assistants (CA) in preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas while ensuring nursing responsibilities remain within their appropriate scope of practice.
- Maintain strict infection control, patient safety, cleanliness, and professional standards throughout all clinical activities.
Requirements :
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Registered Nurse with valid Malaysian Nursing Board registration and Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Staff Nurse, preferably in a clinic, hospital, wound care centre, or specialist healthcare setting.
- Experience in wound dressing, diabetic wound care, chronic wound management, or wound assessment is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control, nursing procedures, and patient safety.
- Able to assess wounds and identify signs of infection, ischaemia, gangrene, or wound deterioration.
- Experience in debridement and wound C&S specimen collection is an added advantage.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, documentation, and patient care skills.
- Caring, responsible, detail-oriented, professional, and able to work independently as well as part of a healthcare team.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays when required, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
