Job summary

Infineon Technologies Malaysia in Penang is seeking a Staff Engineer to advance hardware probe technology for wafer test facilities. You will understand and operate lab equipment, perform probe card characterization, and contribute to optical inspection processes.

You will design and execute experiments to stabilize contact resistance, wear-out rates, and tip diameters, track performance across sites, and collaborate with suppliers and test engineers on NPI probing qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline such as Mechatronics, MEMS, Physics, or Materials Science.
• Experience in productive semiconductor test engineering and/or probing technology development and operations.
• Good understanding of electrical and mechanical requirements for semiconductor technology.
• Experience designing test hardware for factory test solutions and boards for test experiments.

Responsibilities

• Understand and operate test lab equipment (prober, probe card analyzer, test benches) for probe card characterization and optical inspection.
• Define and execute statistical experiments to determine wear-out rates, stabilize contact resistance and control tip diameter for probe-pad combinations.
• Track probe card performance at productive test sites and support them in optimizing yield and reducing maintenance cycles.
• Collaborate with probe card suppliers and test engineers; provide third-level support for hardware issues.
• Define, execute and document NPI probing technology qualification procedures with central hardware and wafer test operations.
