Job summary

Infineon Technologies in Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineer to develop and lead wafer function test hardware solutions, including tester-to-prober interfaces, probe cards, docking hardware, and test head handling concepts.

You will translate requirements into robust hardware concepts for different device technologies, prober models, and production environments, driving hardware readiness for engineering builds, pilot runs, and ramp.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, electronics or related engineering.
• 8–12 years of semiconductor test hardware experience including wafer probe and probe cards.
• Strong understanding of wafer function test, probe process, and tester-to-prober integration.
• Hands-on experience with probe interface boards, docking hardware, pogo towers, and test head handling systems.
• Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, mechanical drawings, and BOMs.
• Experience with hardware validation, root-cause analysis, and DOE-based problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead wafer function test hardware solutions including tester-to-prober interfaces.
• Translate requirements into robust hardware concepts for different device technologies.
• Define and standardize prober docking solutions for repeatability, planarity, alignment, safety.
• Conduct hands-on design evaluation, hardware validation, and release-to-production activities.
• Collaborate with test, product, equipment, manufacturing, quality, safety teams and external suppliers.
• Provide guidance to engineers, share lessons learned, and build internal capability.
