Job summary

Infineon Technologies (Penang) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Staff Engineer to advance hardware probe technology. You will operate test lab equipment such as probers and probe card analyzers to support wafer tech characterization and optical inspection.

You will define experiments to study probe wear-out, stabilize contact resistance and optimize probe-pad combinations. Collaboration with probe card suppliers and test engineers, plus documenting NPI probing procedures, are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline.
• Experience in semiconductor test engineering or probing tech.
• Understanding of electrical & mechanical requirements for semiconductor tech.
• Experience designing test hardware for factory tests.
• Strong communication and teamwork; fluent English.

Responsibilities

Staff Engineer Hardware Probe Technology

Your role
Key responsibilities in your new role

Understand and operate test lab equipment (prober, probe card analyzer, test benches, etc.) required for probe card characterization and optical inspection.

Define and execute statistical-proven experiments to determine probe wear-out rates, to stabilize contact resistance and to control tip diameter for various probe-pad-combinations of Infineon’s power and digital wafer technologies.

Track probe card performance at productive test sites and support them optimizing yield, extending lifetime and reducing maintenance cycle times.

Collaborate with probe card suppliers and test engineers and do3rd-level support of operational test sites in case of hardware-related issues.

Define, execute, and document NPI probing technology qualification procedures together with central hardware team and wafer test operations.

Your profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechatronics, MEMS Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.

Thorough industry knowledge and experience in productive semiconductor test engineering and/or probing technology development and operations.

Good understanding of electrical and mechanical requirements for semiconductor technology.

Experience designing test hardware for factory test solutions, as well as boards needed for test experiments and device characterization.

Systematic and accurate working mode.

Good verbal and written communication skills and strong team spirit.

Fluent in English speaking, reading and writing.
