Job summary

Sandisk in Penang, Malaysia seeks an experienced Supplier Quality Manager to own supplier quality and reliability for electrical components. You will lead cross-functional audits, drive CAPA, and collaborate with Design, Hardware, Firmware, and Product Quality teams to ensure components meet performance requirements.

You will develop KPIs, review change notifications, and guide supplier selections while travelling to supplier sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical field).
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Management and Quality Management.
• Proven experience in supplier evaluation, qualification, performance monitoring, and supplier quality development.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including FMEA, SPC, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and CAPA.
• Experience in semiconductor, storage, or electronics engineering and manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Strong product knowledge and experience in Passive Components and Standard ICs.
• Experience with IC Design Houses is an added advantage.
• Product Engineering experience with ASIC, PMIC, and Memory Components is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.
• Proficient in quality management and statistical analysis tools.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and travel to supplier sites when required.
• Experience working with cross-functional and global teams, including suppliers and supply chain partners.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier quality and reliability for Electrical Components (Passive Components and Standard ICs).
• Manage supplier readiness activities to support new product development (NPI).
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams (Design, Hardware, Firmware, Product Quality, and Reliability Engineering) to ensure components meet performance requirements.
• Understand supplier manufacturing processes, including fabrication, assembly, and testing, to identify critical quality parameters.
• Conduct supplier quality management system (QMS) and manufacturing process audits.
• Drive supplier issue resolution using the 8D methodology and verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Coordinate with Program Management, Design Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful program execution.
• Support supplier selection and provide recommendations based on quality and performance assessments.
• Perform supplier audits and process assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain scorecards for periodic business reviews.
• Review supplier process change notifications and determine the appropriate qualification and validation requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, resolve, and prevent component quality issues while improving manufacturing processes.
• Lead root cause investigations for supplier-related quality issues and drive corrective actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop, monitor, and report supplier quality KPIs to measure and improve performance.
• Ensure supplier compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer quality expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality, reliability, and overall performance.
