Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Penang, Malaysia to ensure the quality of materials and components for manufacturing operations. You will drive continuous improvement, supplier compliance, and support new product introductions.

The role requires 5–7 years in supplier quality within manufacturing, strong ISO/IATF knowledge, and proficiency with quality methods such as 8D, FMEA, and PPAP. English proficiency and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5-7 years of supplier quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949 quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality assurance programs and procedures.
• Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and qualifications to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements (ISO, AS9100, IATF16949).
• Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues, including root cause analysis, CAPA (8D), and effectiveness verification.
• Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics (PPM, OTD, scrap rates) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams on NPI and design changes to ensure supplier readiness and quality.
• Review and approve supplier PPAP/FAI submissions and other quality documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers to improve their quality systems and processes.
• Lead supplier development activities, including training and capability building.
• Prepare and present supplier quality reports and performance reviews to management.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams on new product introduction (NPI) and design changes to ensure supplier readiness and quality.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or equivalent).
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949).
• Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
• Proven experience conducting supplier audits and assessments.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to travel to supplier sites as required.
