Job summary

Watlow in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah, Malaysia, seeks a Senior Buyer (Indirect Materials) to manage internal purchasing requests, source non-production consumables, and track deliveries, ensuring cost efficiency.

You will negotiate with suppliers, develop the supplier base, support continuous improvement, and mentor teammates while working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Technical Qualification with related experience (3-5 years).
• Experience buying non-production consumables and facility supplies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate movement of materials, parts, and information to optimize cost and service.
• Manage internal purchasing requests, generate external requests, and track deliveries.
• Negotiate and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies from suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier quotes and services to determine best suppliers.
• Develop and manage supplier base with audits and feedback systems.
• Negotiate terms for returns, damage claims, and engineering changes.
• Review late supplier shipments and drive on-time performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through lean kaizen activities.

Senior Buyer (Indirect Materials)

• MUST have experiences in buying non-production consumables and all other stuff that cater our facility needs

Position Summary:

• Manages incoming internal purchasing requests, generating external purchasing requests, and tracking delivery of goods and services. Purchases and negotiates materials, equipment, and supplies from suppliers.

• He/She expected to lead projects or specific project activities within broader initiatives, take accountability for ongoing activities and objectives, and serve as a resource and subject-matter reference for less experienced colleagues, with minimal guidance and be capable of resolving complex issues effectively.

• Plan and coordinate physical movement of materials, parts, finished goods, and information to ensure optimization of cost and service level.
