Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Database Administrator to install, configure, and maintain database systems, ensuring performance, security, and availability. The role collaborates with developers and supports migrations and disaster recovery planning.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field with strong SQL knowledge and experience in Windows/Linux environments, along with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Knowledge of SQL and database administration.
Experience with backup/recovery and performance tuning.
Familiarity with Windows/Linux server environments.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.
Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
Manage database security, user access, and permissions.
Optimize database queries and indexing for better performance.
Ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance with company policies.
Support database migrations, upgrades, and patching.
Work with developers to design and optimize database structures.
Prepare database documentation and standard operating procedures.
