Job summary

U Mobile Sdn Bhd is seeking a Specialist, Security Engineering to join our cybersecurity team in Kuala Lumpur. You will participate in security testing, automation, AI security and project delivery while supporting design, integration and deployment of security solutions across the enterprise.

Ideal candidates have a degree in cybersecurity or related field and up to 3 years of hands-on experience in networking, cloud, and security fundamentals, with a proactive, collaborative mindset and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience; fresh grads welcome with strong technical aptitude.
• Basic understanding of networking, OS, web apps, cloud computing and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell or JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security testing and assessments of applications, infrastructure, systems and security solutions to identify vulnerabilities, weaknesses and configuration gaps.
• Develop and maintain internal security applications, tools, scripts, APIs and utilities to improve cybersecurity operations, visibility, integration and engineering efficiency.
• Build automation and system integrations to simplify security processes, data collection, analysis, alert enrichment and repetitive engineering tasks.
• Support the development, testing and improvement of AI security capabilities, including secure AI and Large Language Model (LLM) usage, AI application protection, prompt and data security controls, security monitoring and the use of AI in cybersecurity solutions.
• Participate in cybersecurity projects covering technical design, planning, configuration, integration, testing, deployment and production implementation.

Job Summary

Support the development, testing, implementation and continuous improvement of cybersecurity technologies and solutions. This role provides hands-on experience across security testing, technology evaluations, application development, automation, AI security and project delivery.

The Day-to-Day Activities

Conduct security testing and assessments of applications, infrastructure, systems and security solutions to identify vulnerabilities, weaknesses and configuration gaps.

Support Proof of Concept (PoC) activities, technology evaluations and lab testing to assess security capabilities, integration needs, performance and suitability for enterprise use.

Develop and maintain internal security applications, tools, scripts, APIs and utilities to improve cybersecurity operations, visibility, integration and engineering efficiency.

Build automation and system integrations to simplify security processes, data collection, analysis, alert enrichment and repetitive engineering tasks.

Support the development, testing and improvement of AI security capabilities, including secure AI and Large Language Model (LLM) usage, AI application protection, prompt and data security controls, security monitoring and the use of AI in cybersecurity solutions.

Participate in cybersecurity projects covering technical design, planning, configuration, integration, testing, deployment and production implementation, working with internal teams, technology partners and vendors.

Support the installation, configuration, integration, testing, security hardening and commissioning of cybersecurity solutions. Ensure solutions meet approved technical and security requirements before operational handover.

Perform configuration reviews, security tuning, technology upgrades and engineering improvements to strengthen the effectiveness, resilience and security of deployed technologies.

Prepare and maintain solution designs, configuration guides, test cases, PoC findings, implementation and commissioning records, operational procedures and knowledge articles.

Research emerging cybersecurity technologies, attack methods and security engineering approaches- including cloud, automation and AI security and recommend practical improvements to strengthen the organisation’s cybersecurity capabilities.

About You
