Job summary

TNG Digital, part of TNG Digital Group, seeks a QA Engineer to help drive our testing strategy for a high-scale fintech app. You will collaborate across the QA team, analyze requirements, plan tests with both functional and user perspectives, and automate test cases to support frequent releases.

The role requires strong QA fundamentals, familiarity with agile and Kanban, and comfort with DevOps-style environments. Mandarin and English skills are a plus in a fast-paced fintech setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT or equivalent.
• ISTQB CTFL certification preferred.
• Familiar with BDD and TDD frameworks.
• Fin-tech/e-wallet knowledge is a plus but not required.
• English and Mandarin communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute QA vision and support the Head of QA's strategic direction.
• Collaborate with QA Lead, team and stakeholders across the project.
• Analyze requirements and plan comprehensive testing from functional and user perspectives.
• Prepare detailed test analyses for proper coverage.
• Automate test cases for regression testing and releases.
• Maintain QA documentation and status reports.
• Support DevOps practices and test environments.
• Execute planned test cases within project timelines.
• Support UAT activities during sprints.
• Log, track, and close defects with detailed reports.
• Perform defect analysis to improve test coverage and reduce production defects.
• Provide post-production support for hotfix/testing as needed.

What You’ll Do:

• Execute the QA Vision: Support and execute the Head of QA's vision and the company's strategic direction, adhering to established best practices and processes.
• Collaborate Effectively: Work closely and collaboratively with the QA Lead, team members, and internal and external stakeholders to support the full end-to-end testing process and QA activities throughout the project, agile sprint, and support phases.
• Analyze Requirements: Perform detailed requirements analysis, study, and test planning during the requirement stage. Highlight any concerns or issues early to mitigate potential risks and gaps in QA delivery.
• Plan Comprehensive Testing: Prepare detailed Test Analysis to ensure proper coverage is implemented from both functional and user perspectives for optimal user experience and retention.
• Automate Tests: Automate test cases early, keeping reusability and long-term maintainability in mind during implementation to support frequent regression testing and application releases.
• Maintain Documentation: Perform regular documentation housekeeping. Keep documents such as Test Cases, Test Scripts, QA-related documentation, Knowledge Transfer materials, and status reports up to date.
• Support DevOps Practices: Be familiar with code merges, deployments, and basic DevOps activities to support and maintain Test Environments and release activities.
• Execute Test Plans: Execute all planned test cases, ensuring proper coverage and that timelines are met within the project.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Support UAT activities during the project and sprint activities.
• Manage Defects: Log detailed Status and Defect Reports and follow through to closure in a timely manner.
• Analyze Defects: Regularly perform Defect Analysis studies and enhance test coverage to reduce, prevent, and eliminate escaped defects going into production.
• Provide Post-Production Support: Support hotfix and post-production support activities, which involve testing and troubleshooting from time to time.
• Apply Domain Knowledge: A solid understanding of domain knowledge is required to ensure high QA deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to execution.
• Adapt to Change: Ability to work well under pressure and in an environment of constant change.
• The duties and responsibilities of the Employee outlined herein may be subject to change and the Employee may be required to perform additional tasks as deemed necessary by the Company.

Role Requirements:

• ISTQB – CTFL is preferred
• Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or IT equivalent
• Attributes of a team player, keen eye for detail, pro‑active, analytical, meticulous, detail oriented and have the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Understanding of software testing methodology (agile & waterfall) and principles is required
• Familiar with BDD and TDD framework
• Fin‑tech/e‑wallet industry knowledge is preferred but not mandatory
• Experience using tools below is mostly preferred
• a. Test Management (Tosca/Test Project/Zephyr, XMind/Freemind or similar)
• b. Automation (Applitools/Selenium/IntelliJ/Katalon/Cucumber or similar)
• d. ALM Tools (JIRA, Confluence/YueQue or similar)
• e. API (POSTMAN/RestAssured)
• f. Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Powerpoint)
• g. Performance Test Tools (Jmeter/Blazemeter)
• h. Cloud services (Alibaba, Alipay or similar)
• i. DevOps (Gitlab, SourceTree)
• Experience working in Agile and Kanban team
• Strong fundamentals in programming languages basics (Java/Python/C#) and having interest to do coding is preferred.
• Good attitude, focused and attentive to details, fast learner, continuously improving knowledge and skills in domain and testing toolsets
• Good time management, problem solving, task prioritization capabilities to the given tasks assigned
• Excellent writing skills and good verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin is preferred.
• Flexibility in work hours to complete tasks on time.
