Job summary

U Mobile in Malaysia seeks a seasoned Network Operations Expert to ensure the stability, availability and performance of IP core, data centre connectivity and NFV infrastructure. You will provide operational support, incident resolution and lifecycle management across network and security environments while driving reliability and compliance.

You will monitor and manage IP routing and switching, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, perform RCA, and implement remediation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 5–8 years in IP network operations, security operations, or telco environments.
• Hands-on experience in IP routing & switching, network security platforms, and modern telco network technologies.
• Exposure to NFV, virtualization, cloud-based networking, or automation/scripting tools is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor IP network infrastructure including Core, ISP, GRX and Data Centre connectivity.
• Ensure stability and availability of NFV infrastructure, including VNFs and virtualization platforms.
• Provide operational support and fault resolution for IP network infrastructure, network security platforms and NFV infrastructure.
• Coordinate incidents, problem and change management activities with NOC and relevant stakeholders.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures to avoid recurring incidents.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for issue resolution and system maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, operational standards and audit requirements.
• Support network upgrades, capacity expansion, system integration and service rollout activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation, process enhancement and operational best practices.
• Provide coaching and technical guidance to engineers within the operations team.

Job Summary

About You

• Strong understanding of IP network architecture, security principles, monitoring, and incident management.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with vendors and cross-functional technical teams.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage high-pressure situations effectively.
• Willing to support after-hours operations when required and continuously learn new technologies.
