Job summary

Vistra is seeking a Specialist - Financial Accounting based in Johor to join our Malaysia team on a full-time basis. You will report to the Team Lead and contribute to regional financial accounting activities and growth.

The role supports book-keeping, monthly closings, reconciliations and tax calculations, working in a client-focused SSC environment with opportunities for development and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduate or 1 year of accounting/finance experience.
• Studying or completed accounting/finance degree/diploma.
• ACCA/MIA/CPA or equivalent is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Book-keeping and accounting entries in the accounting system (accruals, adjustments).
• Prepare timely accounts: weekly, month-end, year-end closing and aging/listings.
• Work independently on accounting and management reports with minimal supervision.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Perform monthly income tax calculations if required.
• Handle ad hoc accounting activities as assigned.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Specialist - Financial Accounting. Reporting to the Team Lead, this full-time and permanent position is based in Johor and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Financial Accounting and its’ growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Book-keeping and accounting entries to accounting system (eg. accruals, adjustments).
• Responsible for timely preparation of accounts - weekly, month-end, financial year end closing and aging/listings.
• Work independently on accounting and management report and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Prepare accounting reports and deliverables and ensure submission within agreed timelines.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, monitor unusual items and movement, and investigate reconciling items.
• Meet Business Unit / client requirements/instructions and ensure on-time and on-quality deliverables.
• Prepare manual journal entries at month end and ensure that the supporting documentation for each manual journal entry is complete, adequate, and accurate.
• Perform monthly income tax calculation if required.
• Handle ad hoc activities as assigned.

Key Requirements:

• Fresh graduate or with 1 years relevant working experience in accounting, finance or relevant field of work.
• Experience working in client service or SSC environment will be an added advantage.
• Diploma/Degree or in the midst of pursuing professional studies in accounting/financial or its equivalent.
• ACCA, MIA, CPA or equivalent will be added advantage.
