Job summary

Vistra in Malaysia is hiring an Associate, Fund Service (Accounting) to join our Fund Services team. The role reports to the Assistant Manager/Manager and supports accounting for Private Equity and Singapore-domiciled funds, with regional coverage from Malaysia.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting with 1–2 years' accounting or audit experience, excellent English, and strong organizational skills. Mandarin is a plus; hybrid work option available.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 1–2 years' accounting or financial audit experience.
• Fluent English; Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Strong prioritizing and organizational skills.
• Analytical, meticulous and systematic approach.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and multitask.
• Independent, resourceful and self-motivated.
• Private Equity/Real Estate or fund industry experience preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Account for a portfolio of Private Equity and Closed Ended Funds and Singapore-incorporated entities.
• Record all accounting transactions and prepare work papers, management accounts, financial statements, and net asset values.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and consolidation workings.
• Prepare capital calls, distributions, waterfalls and notices.
• Coordinate audits and draft financial statements with related disclosures.
• Monitor Singapore GST, tax deadlines and filings; respond to client queries.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Associate, Fund Service (Accounting). Reporting to the Assistant Manager/Manager, Fund Services, this full-time and permanent position is based in Malaysia and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Fund Services and its’ growth.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for the accounting and administration of a portfolio of Private Equity and Closed Ended Funds and Singapore-incorporated companies.
• Record all accounting transactions and prepare periodic work papers, management accounts, financial statements, capital account statements and net asset values
• Prepare bank account reconciliation
• Prepare consolidation workings and accounting packages
• Prepare capital call and distribution calculations and notices
• Prepare waterfall and equalization workings
• Perform follow-up with client as necessary on accounting documentation
• Respond to client queries
• Coordinate annual audits
• Draft annual financial statements and their related FRS/IFRS/US GAAP disclosures
• Monitor/adhere to Singapore regulatory deadlines for quarterly GST, annual and tax filings
• Assist on client service matters, maintaining and building client relationships
• Undertake general administration and other projects as assigned

Key requirements:

• Bachelor's degree graduate majoring in Accounting.
• Possess 1-2 years working experience in accounting or financial audit.
• Fluent in English. Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.
• Strong prioritizing ability and organizational skills
• Analytical, meticulous and systematic in approach to work
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and multi-task
• Independent and resourceful
• Self-motivated, diligent, positive working attitude and strong desire to learn
• Private Equity/Real Estate or prior Fund Industry experience is preferred but not mandatory
