Responsibilities

  • Manage full-set accounting for the Malaysian branch.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements including notes.
  • Oversee intercompany transactions, fixed assets, prepayments and settlements.
  • Regulatory liaison with SC Malaysia, auditors and regulators.
  • Taxation & statutory compliance including SST and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Treasury and cash management, liquidity forecasting, and FX risk monitoring.
  • Develop accurate journal entries and chart of accounts.

Job description

Manage full-set accounting for the Malaysian branch. Strictly comply with MFRS (Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards) and IFRS. Align accounting practices with futures business characteristics including derivative valuation, margin utilisation and accounting, settlement records, etc., to ensure logical chart of accounts and accurate journal entries.

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, comprising Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Profit or Loss, Statement of Cash Flows, Statement of Changes in Equity and accompanying notes. Conduct financial analysis and submit the Monthly Reporting Package to headquarters on a regular basis.

Oversee accounting for fixed assets, prepayments and intercompany transactions to maintain consistency between book records and actual positions.

2. Regulatory Compliance & Audit Coordination

Regulatory Liaison: Act as the finance focal point for ongoing communications with Securities Commission Malaysia (SC Malaysia), exchange and relevant financial regulators. Efficiently support regulatory reviews, inquiries and on-site inspections.

Audit Administration: Organise and coordinate annual external audits, compile audit supporting documentation to facilitate smooth issuance of audit opinions.

Compliance Monitoring: Continuously track updates to Malaysian financial and securities legislation, and revise internal financial policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) accordingly to maintain regulatory compliance.

3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

Calculate, file and administer annual tax audit for Malaysian Corporate Income Tax; ensure compliance with Sales and Service Tax (SST) where applicable.

Transfer Pricing: In view of the PRC-owned corporate structure, coordinate documentation of intercompany transactions with headquarters, assist in preparing and maintaining Transfer Pricing (TP) Documentation to mitigate cross-border tax risks.

Handle routine tax matters and potential tax audits conducted by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN).

4. Treasury & Cash Management

Liquidity Management: Administer local bank accounts, optimise short-term liquidity, and develop robust cash flow forecasting models tailored to volatile margin requirements of futures operations.

Risk Control: Formalise fund transfer procedures between domestic and overseas entities. Closely monitor cross-border foreign exchange risks and intercompany settlement risks to safeguard capital safety and compliance.

Requirements
1. Education & Professional Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management or related disciplines.

Candidates holding Malaysian or international professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CPA Malaysia, MICPA, ICAEW, etc.) are strongly preferred (critical for regulatory compliance).

2. Work Experience

Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on accounting experience. Prior experience in financial services, securities, futures, banking or finance functions of multinational corporations is preferred.

Proven end‑to‑end experience performing standalone entity accounting, preparing regulatory filings, and managing audit and tax matters in Malaysia.

3. Technical Skills

In-depth knowledge of MFRS (Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards) and IFRS.

Familiarity with Malaysian tax regulations (income tax, SST) and fundamental transfer pricing principles.

Proficiency in UFIDA system and advanced Excel modelling for cash flow forecasting and data analytics.

Language: Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese. Capable of conducting business communications and drafting professional financial reports in Chinese; able to interpret original Malaysian regulatory legislations.

Professional Traits: Prudent personality with strong risk awareness, meticulousness and logical thinking. Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and proven ability to communicate and coordinate with external parties including regulators, auditors and banks.

Adaptability: Able to adapt to Chinese corporate culture, with initiative and execution capability to establish standardised processes within a start-up environment.

Establish and oversee rigorous monitoring of market, credit, liquidity, operational, and counterparty risks.
