Job summary

TMI Container Line Sdn Bhd is seeking a procurement professional with freight forwarder or shipping experience to manage inquiries, source rates, and negotiate with carriers. You will maintain the rate database, monitor market trends, and develop strong relationships with shipping lines and service providers to secure competitive terms.

Excellent English and Bahasa Malaysia are required; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, preferably in freight forwarder and shipping.
• Strong sourcing, negotiation and cost-comparison skills.
• Good knowledge of shipping and logistics, including shipping routes, Incoterms and industry terminology.
• Good written & communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, proactive and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily rate inquiries and prepare quotations.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate competitive freight and logistics rates with carriers, co-loaders, overseas agents and other service providers.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with shipping lines and other service providers.
• Maintain and regularly update the company's rate database.
• Monitor and analyse the latest market trends, freight-rate movements, surcharges and space availability.
