Job summary

A leading solar energy solutions company in Malaysia is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer with experience in solar PV projects to manage resources and ensure quality standards. The role includes diagnostic responsibilities during breakdowns, production of technical reports, and interaction with various departments. The ideal candidate should hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and have strong electrical installation skills. This position may require occasional work on weekends.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage resources planning and maintenance schedule for solar PV systems.
• Diagnose and address electrical breakdowns in assigned projects.
• Ensure quality compliance for project quality assurance and quality control.
• Provide technical reports for breakdowns, corrective actions, and maintenance.
• Monitor system performance and produce statistical performance reports.
• Complete project technical studies, design, and prepare cost estimations.
• Determine project schedule by studying plans, calculating time, and sequencing tasks.
• Liaise with Sales, Project, and Procurement; provide technical support and resolve issues during installation.
• Review QA/QC before Testing & Commissioning to ensure compliance with standards and contract requirements.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures and regulations.
• Develop and establish the company's quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
• Serve as primary interface with authorities, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and clients through project phases and warranty.
• Support development of new applications for internal process improvement.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Responsible to manage resources planning and schedule arrangement for corrective and preventative maintenance complying the Scope of Work and Service Level Agreement.
• Responsible to arrange or attend any electrical breakdowns related to solar PV systems, initiate fault diagnosis and corrective actions for assigned solar PV projects.
• Verify all the works performed by Technician or Contractor, emphasize on quality as well as ensuring the countermeasure applied according to standards, procedures, and specifications.
• Provide technical reports for any breakdown, corrective actions and periodic maintenance performed.
• Monitoring system performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical performance reports.
• Complete project technical studies, design, and prepare cost estimation.
• Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
• Liaise with Sales, Project, and Procurement department, provide technical support and resolve technical issues during project installation.
• Review project quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) before Testing & Commissioning of solar PV projects, to ensure the projects specifications comply with standards and meet contract requirements.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Devising and establishing a company's quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
• Primary interface between authorities, engineering consultant, subcontractors, vendors and clients during projects phase and service warranty to build positive long-term relationships.
• Provide technical and non-technical support in development of new applications for internal process improvement.

Qualifications

1. Possess 2 years of working experience in electrical installations or maintenance of solar PV projects.
2. Possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
3. Knowledge and experience in Solar PV system design and PV Syst will be an added advantage.
4. Extensive knowledge on electrical theory and troubleshooting skills.
5. Excellent analytical, problem solving and reporting skills.
6. Customer oriented, independent, and good interpersonal skills.
7. Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English (verbally as well as written).
