Job summary

Mission Consultancy Services seeks an experienced Software Tester to perform manual and automated testing across web, mobile, and API platforms, ensuring product quality through rigorous functional, performance, and regression testing.

Responsibilities include developing automated tests, writing and executing test scripts, and collaborating with developers to drive quality. The role supports global initiatives and may require travel.

Qualifications

• ISTQB foundation qualification or equivalent.
• 2+ years of manual and automated IT software testing experience with 3rd level support to customers.
• Experience with automation testing software (e.g., Selenium) and agile environments.
• Experience testing web applications, APIs and mobile applications.
• Experience with JMeter and Shell Scripts; programming in Java, C, C++, Python.
• Experience with TestRail, Jira and Confluence.
• Strong QA foundations and testing lifecycle knowledge; able to learn new technologies quickly.

Job description

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Software Tester to conduct manual and automated testing across web, mobile, and API platforms, ensuring product quality through rigorous functional, performance, and regression testing.

Description:

• Identify business requirements;
• Meet with system users to understand the scope of projects;
• Actively participate in the team, including attending weekly meetings;Be an expert user of the system;
• Carry out stress testing, performance testing, functional testing and scalability testing;
• Develop automated testing;
• Provide input to technical writers;
• Write, execute and manage test scripts that mitigate risk;
• Run manual and automated tests;
• Test in different environments including web and mobile;
• Write bug reports;
• Troubleshoot, verify and test to validate possible defects;
• Promptly and efficiently triage incidents, incident management and resolution;
• Log, monitor, manage and progress all incidents using project management tools;
• Work closely with developers to identify and resolve issues;
• Report progress and identify, escalated and remove obstacles that might hinder agreed release dates;
• Promptly escalated and collaborate in relation to level 3 incidents;
• Support global IT initiatives;
• Undertake administrative tasks related to the job role;
• Work with software developers and project support teams;
• Work towards departmental and project deadlines;
• Provide quality assurance;
• Provide objective feedback to software development team and other stakeholders;
• Present findings to software development and business user teams;
• Work on multiple projects at one time and to deadlines;
• Analyse documents;
• Develop tools within scope of expertise;
• Liaise with teams in other parts of the world;
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues;
• Required to travel locally and overseas;
• Take ownership of proactive application alerts and resolve the application issue or elevate to 4th level if an application, database or environment defect is recognised.

Requirements:

• ISTQB foundation qualification or equivalent
• 2 + years of expertise in manual and automated IT software testing and providing 3rd level support to customers
• Knowledge and experience working with automation testing software, for example, Selenium
  Experience of working within an agile environment
  Experience in testing web applications, API's and mobile applications
• Experience with JMeter Script
• Experience with Shell Scripts
  Experience with one of the following programming languages - Java, C, C++, Python/
• Experience of Test Rail
  Experience of working with Jira and Confluence (or equivalent tools)
• A strong Testing background with an excellent understanding of the Test Lifecycle and Testing Best Practices
  Some exposure or experience with either, Java, JavaScript, Python or Linux
  A strong technical background with a strong understanding of QA methodologies, with the ability to quickly pick up on new technologies
