Job summary

Motorola Solutions Malaysia is seeking graduates for embedded software QA roles focused on video systems and embedded platforms. You will work on end-to-end device and system tests, automate test cases with Python scripts, and log defects.

The role emphasizes learning automation, Gen AI adoption, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The team develops firmware for embedded devices, uses modern C++, and operates in a Linux environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Information Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in Python, JavaScript, Angular, C, or C# for scripting and automation.
• Knowledge of video monitoring systems and client-server setups is a plus.
• Familiarity with Android, IoT, WiFi, LTE, DMR, and video technologies is advantageous.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Gen AI in software automation is a plus.
• Strong English communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end test on NPI program at device and system level.
• Design, develop and test software to ensure software requirements compliance.
• Translate requirements into manual/automated test cases and logs.
• Develop Python scripts and automation to increase coverage and speed.
• Work with business and development teams to define test strategy.
• Analyze, submit, and manage defects and perform root-cause analysis.
• Create, upgrade and maintain test tools and infrastructure as needed.
• Vehicle drive testing as required; incorporate Gen AI into test environments.

Job Description

• Perform End to End Test on NPI program at device as well as system level.

• Design, develop and test the software to ensure SW requirement compliance.

• Analyze the test requirements to create effective and optimal test coverage.

• Translate requirements and specifications into manual/automated test cases.

• Develop Phyton & scripts automatation to increase coverage and execution speed.

• Work with the business and development team to formulate test strategy.

• Analyze, submit, and manage defects.

• Perform first level of root‑case analysis of problems to formulate and recommend improved alternative operations.

• Work with the engineering team to produce hypothesis and to reproduce and validate issues.

• Performs false failure analysis, troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing automation test setups.

• Create, upgrade and maintain test tools & infrastructure if required for the tests.

• Vehicle drive testing as needed.

• Incorporate Gen AI into Test environment/framework.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Information Science / Communication Engineering / Software engineering or related fields.

• Good knowledge in Python, Javascript, Angular, C, C# or other languages used for scripting.

• Knowledge of Video Monitoring System, Client-Server Setup, Mobile Application Setup, Photography (Image Quality Knowledge) will be a plus.

• Knowledge in Android, IoT, WiFI, LTE, DMR, video are added advantage.

• Having Agile Methodology & using Gen AI in Software Automation and optimizing Quality Processes is a plus.

• Works under general supervision, self‑motivated and able to integrate well into a cross‑functional team.

• Good English communication, interpersonal skill.

• Customer focused and result oriented.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills along with an attention to detail and understanding of customer impact.

• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.

• Candidate must be willing to work in Bayan Lepas.
