Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join the Video Embedded Software Engineering Team. You will perform end-to-end tests on NPIs, design and test software to meet requirements, and develop automated scripts to boost coverage and speed.

The role involves defect analysis, collaboration with engineering, and potential vehicle drive testing. Fresh graduates are welcome, with a focus on Python/JavaScript/Angular and Linux environments.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates / junior engineers with <2 years in software development or testing.
• Bachelor degree in Information Science, Communication Engineering, or software-related field.
• Knowledge in Python, JavaScript, Angular, C, or C# for scripting.
• Knowledge of Video Monitoring System, Client-Server setup, and mobile app setup is a plus.
• Knowledge in Android, IoT, WiFi, LTE, DMR, and video is an added advantage.
• Experience with Agile Methodology and Gen AI in software automation is a plus.
• Works under general supervision with cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong English communication, interpersonal skills; customer-focused and detail-oriented.
• Experience in performance or security testing is a plus.

Working in close collaboration with other departments, engineers in this team excel at developing applications and drivers under Linux, and have a variety of backgrounds and specializations.
