Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our team. You will perform manual and automation testing on customer-related and internal R&D projects, creating test documents and maintaining automation frameworks.

You'll work with lab equipment, learn new technologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. English and Mandarin proficiency are required, with experience in embedded testing and scripting a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical/EE/CS/Mechatronics or related
• Prior R&D experience preferred
• Experience in embedded software testing roles
• Knowledge of software testing concepts and techniques
• Experience with mobile-based industry is a plus
• Knowledge of cellular network technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G) beneficial
• Experience with laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, meters)
• 6+ years in embedded software testing is a plus
• Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu)
• Basic understanding of OOP or scripting
• Test automation, API testing and Python/C based frameworks
• C, Perl and Python programming a plus
• ISTQB CTFL/CTAL advantageous
• Can-do attitude with growth mindset
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration
• Detail-oriented with high-quality delivery
• Ability to work independently and in teams

Key responsibilities

Perform manual and automation testing, fill test reports and report bugs

Create test documents such as test cases, test scripts, test reports and test plans

Work on automation frameworks with maintaining and developing new automation scripts and tools

Work on customer-related and internal R&D projects in project-oriented teams

Provide technical support to customers or colleagues in other departments

Participate in knowledge-sharing activities to enhance team capabilities through documentation or in-house training

Use laboratory measurement and simulation equipment on devices

Learn new required technologies and tools

Assist in ad-hoc tasks as required

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Electrical/E&E/Computer Science/Mechatronics or related course of study preferred

Prior work experience in R&D centre preferably

Prior work experience in embedded software testing roles

Knowledge of Software Testing concepts and techniques

Experience in mobile-based industry will be considered as a plus

Knowledge of cellular network technologies, such as 2G GSM, 3G WCDMA, 4G LTE and 5G NSA and SA concepts

Experience in using laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, power supplies etc)

More than 6 years of experience in embedded software testing will be an added advantage

Experience with Linux system, i.e. Ubuntu

Basic understanding of OOP or scripting skills

Test Automation experience, API testing and testing frameworks based on Python or C

Experience in C, PERL and Python programming will be considered as a plus

ISTQB Certificate (i.e. CTFL and/or CTAL) is an advantage

Possess a 'can-do attitude', embrace challenges, growth mindset and able to handle some ambiguities

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results
