Jora Malaysia is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join the robotics team and contribute to software for intelligent devices on the Ubuntu Linux platform.
You will work with engineers to develop, test, and optimize C/C++ applications, assist in robotics projects, and help implement motion control and computer vision features for autonomous navigation and path planning.

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work closely with our engineering team to develop and enhance software for robotics and intelligent devices on the Ubuntu Linux platform.
Your responsibilities include:
Develop, compile, test, debug, and optimize C/C++ applications on Ubuntu Linux.
Assist in enhancing existing robotics products and participate in the development of new robotic solutions.
Support the development and testing of motion control features, including:
Basic motion command execution
Precision movement control
Image acquisition
Basic image processing
Parameter tuning and testing
Support map building and path planning development by working with algorithm and hardware engineers to implement autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, and path optimization features.
Develop and maintain basic system functionalities such as:
Serial communication
TCP/UDP network communication
Local file handling and data logging
Perform software testing, bug fixing, code documentation, and contribute to improving software stability and performance.

Parameter tuning and testing
Support map building and path planning development by working with algorithm and hardware engineers to implement autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, and path optimization features.
Develop and maintain basic system functionalities such as:
Serial communication
TCP/UDP network communication
Local file handling and data logging
Perform software testing, bug fixing, code documentation, and contribute to improving software stability and performance.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, IoT, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
Basic knowledge of C/C++ programming, including pointers, structures, functions, and fundamental programming concepts.
Familiar with Ubuntu/Linux operating systems and basic software development workflows (compiling, debugging, and running applications).
Basic understanding of one or more of the following:
Serial communication
TCP/IP networking
File I/O
Image processing
Strong interest in robotics, motion control, computer vision, autonomous navigation, or embedded software development.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills with a willingness to learn new technologies.
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Good communication skills in English. Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage due to communication with Mandarin-speaking team members.
Candidates with personal projects, robotics competition experience, or relevant academic projects are encouraged to apply.
