Job summary

United BC Team Malaysia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the UB Automated Retrieval System (ARS) and Material Management System (MMS) within the region. You will bridge product development with customer needs, ensuring alignment with robotics-led warehouse solutions.

The role requires strong technical leadership, product management capabilities, and experience in system integration across distributed teams, including overseas partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum five years of software development or system integration experience.
• Experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, RESTful API development, and Git.
• Strong OO programming and software architecture skills.
• Experience with product requirement analysis, feature specification, and UAT.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical owner of the UB ARS & MMS in Malaysia.
• Collaborate with Shanghai Product R&D team to review requirements and prioritize features.
• Translate customer needs into functional specifications for Shanghai developers.
• Participate in product planning, reviews, testing, and release management.
• Design and develop integration modules linking the platform with humanoid robots.

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for managing and enhancing the UB Automated Retrieval System (ARS) and Material Management System (MMS) as part of research and development initiative. While the core platform is developed and maintained by the Shanghai Product R&D team, this role serves as the technical product owner in Malaysia, ensuring the product aligns with regional business requirements and customer needs. The position requires strong technical leadership, product management capability, and system integration experience to bridge product development, customer requirements, and emerging robotics technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical owner of the UB ARS & MMS within Malaysia
• Collaborate closely with the Shanghai Product R&D team to review product requirements, prioritize feature enhancements, coordinate development activities, and validate software releases
• Analyse customer requirements, identify product gaps, and translate business needs into functional specifications for the Shanghai development team
• Participate in product planning, feature reviews, acceptance testing, and release management
• Design and develop integration modules that connect the platform with humanoid robots, enabling intelligent material transportation, inventory handling, and warehouse operations
• Develop APIs, middleware, communication interfaces, and orchestration services to support seamless interaction between robotics systems and warehouse operations
• Work closely with robotics vendors, implementation teams, and customers to validate integration solutions and troubleshoot technical issues
• Maintain product documentation, support product demonstrations, and evaluate emerging technologies
• Contribute to the long-term product strategy for intelligent manufacturing automation

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in software development, system integration, or industrial automation
• Experience in C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, RESTful API Development, and Git
• Strong experience in Object-Oriented Programming and Software Architecture
• Experience with product requirement analysis, feature specification, product release management, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Experience with REST API, MQTT, TCP/IP, WebSocket, RFID integration, and Barcode systems
• Experience in Industrial IoT, Manufacturing automation, and AI-assisted diagnostics
• Experience working with enterprise software products and collaborating with cross-functional or overseas development teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively between customers, implementation teams, robotics vendors, and the Shanghai Product R&D Centre
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong technical leadership, and the capability to manage multiple priorities
