Job summary

Takaful Malaysia is seeking an experienced IT Applications Lead to provide end-to-end technical leadership for the application team responsible for developing, supporting, and enhancing both internally built and externally procured systems.

The role involves overseeing end-to-end deployment, coordinating enhancements, planning IT projects, and ensuring timely resolution of IRs and SRs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with core business systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years in systems development and support, incl. 4+ years in leadership.
• Diploma with at least 10 years in development and support, incl. 5+ years in management.
• Relevant Certifications such as ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the application team in development, support, and enhancement of applications.
• Oversee end-to-end deployment of new systems and features.
• Coordinate enhancements to existing systems to improve performance and UX.
• Plan, monitor, and manage IT projects including timelines and resources.

The role also encompasses active involvement in planning, monitoring, and coordinating IT projects and initiatives, managing the resources, while ensuring timely and effective resolution of Incident Requests (IR) and Service Requests (SR) in accordance with organizational expectations. A key aspect of the position is to collaborate across cross-functional teams, enabling seamless integration and alignment with core business systems.

• Lead the application team in the development, support, and enhancement of internally built and externally procured applications
• Oversee the end-to-end deployment of new systems and features, ensuring alignment with business requirements and operational readiness
• Coordinate and implement enhancements to existing systems, improving performance, functionality, and user experience
• Plan, monitor, and manage assigned IT projects and initiatives, including timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholder communications
• Ensure timely and effective resolution of Incident Requests (IRs) and Service Requests (SRs) in accordance with service standards and business expectations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate applications with core business systems, ensuring seamless interoperability and data flow
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development team members, fostering quality engineering practices and professional growth
• Liaise with vendors, partners, and external teams on procured solutions, including customizations, support, and lifecycle management

Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 8 years of hands-on experience in systems application development and support, including a minimum of 4 years in a managerial or team leadership role;
• Diploma in a relevant discipline, with a minimum of 10 years of practical experience in systems application development and support, including at least 5 years in a management capacity
• Relevant Certifications such as ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, etc. is added advantage
