Job summary

PhillipCapital is seeking a Software Developer (.NET) in Kuala Lumpur to join the Application Development team. You will analyze, design, develop, test, implement, maintain and support business-critical applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC/Core and SQL Server.

Responsibilities include API design, SDLC participation, troubleshooting, code reviews, and documentation. The role emphasizes independent work, quality solutions, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience with Microsoft technologies.
• Experience in maintenance and production support environments.
• Strong C#, .NET Framework and .NET (ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET Core).
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including design, stored procedures, views, functions, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
• Good understanding of OOP, design patterns, and software engineering principles.

Job description

We are seeking a Software Developer (.NET) to join our Application Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of business-critical applications.

The ideal candidate should possess solid hands-on experience in C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, and Microsoft SQL Server, with the ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and deliver quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform systems analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of business applications.

Develop, enhance, and maintain web and windows-based applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and system integrations.

Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in development, testing, and production environments.

Provide Level 2 application support and ensure smooth Business-As-Usual (BAU) operations.

Work closely with business users, business analysts, QA teams, and project stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements.

Perform impact analysis and effort estimation for enhancement requests and change requirements.

Develop and optimize database objects including stored procedures, views, functions, and queries.

Conduct unit testing and support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with development standards and best practices.

Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver projects on schedule and with high quality.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in software development using Microsoft technologies.

Experience in application maintenance and production support environments.

Technical Skills:

Must have:

Strong experience in C#, .NET Framework and .NET (ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET Core).

Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, stored procedures, views, functions, query optimization, and performance tuning.

Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.

Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and software engineering principles.

Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Good to have (advantageous):

Experience with Entity Framework / Entity Framework Core.

Working knowledge of PostgreSQL will be an added advantage.

Familiarity with Gitlaba source code control tool.

Exposure to AI technologies and AI-assisted development practices will be an added advantage.

Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.

Experience with modern software development practices including CI/CD process, Microservices, Containerization (docker).
