Job summary

Vilja Solutions AB is expanding its Kuala Lumpur R&D center and ASEAN HQ, seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer. The role focuses on designing and maintaining automated end-to-end tests for microservices, leveraging Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.

You'll work in an Agile setting with cross-functional teams in a modern Docker-based deployment environment. Fluency in English is required; Mandarin or Vietnamese is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience testing microservices-based systems and designing automated tests for reliable coverage.
• Experience creating and executing manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality and end-to-end user journeys.
• 3–7 years of relevant testing experience with ownership of E2E test suites integrated into CI/CD.
• Experience building and maintaining E2E/API/UI automation (beyond unit tests) integrated as CI gates.
• Proficiency in at least one UI automation framework (Playwright/Cypress/Selenium).
• SQL experience with PostgreSQL; exposure to MongoDB NoSQL databases.
• Able to work in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in English; Mandarin Chinese and/or Vietnamese a plus.
• Curious about cutting-edge technologies and improving testing processes.
• Strong communication of technical challenges and solutions.
• Experience with Microservices testing approach.
• Experience with Docker for containerization and deployment.

Skills & Requirements

• Experience testing microservices-based system with the ability to design reliable automated tests and isolate defects
• Experience creating and executing both manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality and end‑to‑end user journeys
• Expected experience range at least 3–7 years relevant experience, including ownership of E2E test suites integrated into CI/CD
• Experience building and maintaining E2E/API/UI automation (beyond unit tests), integrating as CI gates and continually improving automation processes
• Tooling proficiency in at least one modern UI automation framework (Playwright/Cypress/Selenium)
• Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL) and SQL query language, as well as experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
• A team player who thrives in flexible and agile environments, working closely with cross-functional teams
• Strong self-motivation and problem‑solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues
• Fluency in English required
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and/or Vietnamese is a plus
• A ceaseless interest in learning the latest cutting‑edge technologies and applying them to improve testing processes
• Exceptionally strong communication skills, capable of providing clear explanations of technical challenges and solutions
• Experience working with Agile projects and methodologies
• Experience working on projects in the banking, finance, or payment systems sectors, with an emphasis on understanding industry-specific requirements and challenges
• Experience with Microservices Architecture and its application in testing
• Experience working with Docker for containerization and deployment
• Previous experience working as a software developer is a benefit, providing a strong foundation for understanding development processes and challenges
