Job summary

Chubb APAC seeks a Polisy Asia Developer to produce scalable software solutions and join a cross-functional team responsible for the software development life cycle from conception to deployment. You should be proficient in SMART/400 development and understand insurance workflows, policies, and products.

Responsibilities include coding to standards, unit testing, documentation, and collaboration with designers and testers to deliver high-quality software while complying with regulatory and audit

Qualifications

• 3+ years of system development experience in SMART400 in Policy/Asia.
• Knowledge of general insurance business and Policy/Asia workflows.
• Experience with insurance industry practices, regulators and auditors.
• Familiar with WRKQRY, Query/400, SQL/400, SQL and BI tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Write clean, maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
• Perform unit testing and debugging of SMART programs.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to SMART & CHUBB coding standards.
• Contribute to technical documentation, including system design, specifications, and user guides.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving software defects or issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and testers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Change management and change control review to ensure adherence to BNM & audit requirements as well as Chubb APAC practices.
• Ensure quality, performance and security of the product.

Polisy Asia Developer to produce scalable software solutions and to be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a Polisy Asia Developer, you should be comfortable and proficient in Smart/400, Cobol/400 development, and understand insurance workflows, processes and products.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and objectives

About you

• A recognised degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• Overall 3+ years of experience in System development in SMART400 in various modules in Policy/Asia
• Knowledge of general insurance business with working knowledge of Policy/Asia, integration and software development lifecycle
• Experience with insurance industry practices/regulations and dealing with regulators and auditors
• Familiar with WRKQRY, Query/400, SQL/400, SQL and BI tool
• Experience in preparing test case document and Unit test plan
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills along with job planning and organization skills
