Job summary

Dyson is seeking a Lead Product Engineer in Malaysia to manage SKU lifecycles, BOMs, and SAP data setup. You will coordinate with contract manufacturers and cross-functional teams to ensure changes are implemented accurately.

You will analyze SKU-related issues, drive process improvements, and provide clear technical guidance, influencing decisions with data and expertise. This role requires an engineering background and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
• Basic understanding of SKU management, BOM creation, and SAP data setup.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn and adapt.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• SKU Management: creation and development of SKUs for new and existing products from end-to-end of SKU lifecycle.
• Maintain SKU data in relevant systems and coordinate with teams to verify updates.
• Drive standardization and process improvements to increase efficiency and data quality.
• Act as SME for SKU-related escalations and decisions.
• BOM Management: developing and maintaining SKU BOMs and governance.
• Change Request Management: tracking, documentation, and implementation of changes.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers and CM weekly meetings for guidance and documentation.
• Engage stakeholders and incorporate feedback into SKU management processes.
• Identify risks and dependencies related to engineering changes and production processes.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales Delivery and Quality teams to resolve BOM discrepancies.

About The Role

We are recruiting for a motivated Lead Product Engineer to join our team. The role will be involved in managing SKU-related tasks, including creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOM), setting up SAP data, and liaising with contract manufacturers. You will also engage with stakeholders to support project activities and contribute to problem‑solving efforts. You will work autonomously as part of a multi‑disciplined team, Iteratively, to create robust specifications & designs on spec, on time, to cost and quality targets.

Responsibilities Includes

• SKU Management
• Responsible for creation and development of SKUs for new and existing products from end-to-end of SKU lifecycle.
• Ensure SKU data is accurately recorded and maintained in relevant systems.
• Support in coordinating with different teams to verify and update SKU information.
• Drive standardization and process improvements to increase efficiency and data quality.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert for SKU‑related escalations and decisions.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) Management
• Developing and maintaining SKU BOMs for products.
• Maintaining SKU BOMs based on design changes or production needs.
• Establish and enforce BOM governance, documentation, and best practices.
• Change Request Management
• Responsible managing change requests, including tracking, documentation, and implementation.
• Involve in the review and evaluation of change requests to assess impact on SKUs, BOMs, and production processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure smooth implementation of approved changes.
• Proactively identify risks and dependencies related to engineering changes.
• Contract Manufacturer Coordination
• Coordinating with contract manufacturers regarding SKU-related development tasks.
• Sample build arrangement, request quotation, and raise PO.
• Involve in CM weekly meeting and provide clear technical guidance and documentation to enable accurate execution.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Communicate SKU‑related information and updates to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Involve in incorporating feedback from stakeholders into SKU management processes.
• Problem Solving
• Identify and analyse issues related to SKUs, BOMs, and SAP data.
• Collaborate with team members to help develop and implement solutions.
• Contribute to change projects or lead change project at sub‑team level to improve efficiency.
• Influence decision‑making through credibility, data, and technical expertise.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales Delivery and Quality teams to resolve BOM discrepancies

About You
