Job summary

Architest Laboratory Sdn Bhd is seeking a Site Testing Technician to support geotechnical and construction materials testing at various construction sites in Malaysia. The role emphasizes field density testing, CBR and coring work, with a focus on accuracy and safety.

Applicants should have a civil engineering-related qualification and hands-on site testing experience. Willingness to travel to sites and work outdoors is essential, with on-site training and career development opportunities

Qualifications

• SPM/Certificate/Diploma in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field is required.
• Candidates with geotechnical, site or pavement testing experience have an advantage.
• FDT, Field CBR and concrete/asphalt coring familiarity is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Minimum 2–3 years of working experience in geotechnical testing, construction site testing, pavement testing or a similar field.
• Conduct Field Density Tests (FDT) using the sand replacement method at construction sites.
• Perform Field California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests.
• Carry out concrete coring and asphalt/premix coring works at construction sites.
• Assist in site testing preparation, equipment setup, transportation and mobilisation.
• Ensure field testing activities are conducted in accordance with relevant testing standards and approved procedures.
• Record field measurements, test results and site observations accurately.
• Ensure proper handling, identification and transportation of collected samples to the laboratory.
• Maintain testing equipment, tools and accessories in good working condition.
• Comply with site safety requirements and company procedures.
• Perform other site-related testing duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Site Testing Technician at Architest Laboratory Sdn Bhd, an established testing laboratory providing geotechnical and construction materials testing services to the construction and infrastructure industries. The role focuses on geotechnical, pavement and on-site construction materials testing at construction sites.

Key responsibilities

• Minimum 2–3 years of working experience in geotechnical testing, construction site testing, pavement testing or a similar field.

About you

• Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Candidates with experience in geotechnical testing, construction site testing or pavement testing will have an advantage.
• Familiarity with Field Density Test (FDT), Field CBR and concrete/asphalt coring is an added advantage.
• Experience in road construction, earthworks or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Able to work outdoors and travel to different construction sites as required.
• Physically fit and comfortable performing hands-on site work.
• Responsible, disciplined, punctual and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Possess a valid driving licence. Candidates with experience driving manual vehicles will have an advantage.
